Polymers
Overview

Since the advent of synthetic rubbers (polymers) in the first half of the 20th century, the non-stick properties of the ultra-smooth glass finish along with its ease of cleaning has made our products the material of choice for polymerizes.

The fused glass material of our technology has an incredibly smooth finish of <0.25 Ra micrometers (<10 Ra microinches). This greatly deters adherence of product, which is a huge benefit during process heating and reactions, especially polymeric reactions, as it prevents the product becoming burnt on the heating wall. The no-stick property of our product also makes the cleaning process easier.

Upgrades

We provide all available upgrades and enhancements for polymer technologies including:

Heating and/or cooling jackets

Level instrumentation

Dip pipes

Sight glasses

Insulation and sheathing

Temperature measurement

Valves

Vessel lights

CIP

Many others

Mixing

The high viscosity of most polymers is detrimental to the high level of mixing that is required to promote the good mixing/contact between reactants and the good heat transfer that is required for effective, efficient reaction.

We have been one of the driving forces in the design and manufacture of polymer reactors, designing many mixing innovations specifically for high viscosity polymer reaction applications including anchors, ribbons and multi-flight impellers.
